Before you begin

Check model and plan access on the official model page. Custom providers in an SDK do not establish equivalent IDE settings.

Setup

1. 01Check the current model settings

   Follow the official installation and model settings documentation. Check for a custom API address, key and model ID. A model picker or MCP settings alone are insufficient.

2. 02If you need A2Agent now

   Use one of the alternative guides below. Keep the original tool on its official models; do not put an A2Agent key in a field that only accepts that vendor’s credentials.

Capabilities and limits

• The IDE’s model picker and MCP extensions are not custom inference endpoints.
• As of the documentation check, an arbitrary gateway endpoint has not been confirmed for regular users. Enterprise editions may differ.

Troubleshooting

For authentication failures, first confirm that the field accepts third-party gateways. An enterprise integration needs protocol details from its administrator.

Restore previous settings

If you tried changing settings, remove the third-party credential and restore the official model and account sign-in. No system proxy or certificate changes are needed.
