Frequently Asked Questions
How does billing work?
Per token, from a prepaid balance. Input and output tokens are metered separately at each model’s rate on the Models page, and the rate your key pays depends on the group it belongs to. Discounts are measured against the vendor’s official list price. When the balance reaches zero, requests return 403 until you top up.
Is there a minimum spend?
No. There is no monthly fee and no commitment; you pay for the tokens you use. The smallest top-up is $1, with no top-up fee, and checkout shows the payment methods available to you.
Is there a free AI API key?
Yes. Every new account starts with $5 in free credit, no card required, and it works on any model your key can access. When it runs out you pay as you go, from $1 a top-up. Free credit and top-up bonus credit cannot be refunded.
Is there a top-up bonus?
When a bonus is running, the table on this page lists the tiers. A top-up earns the flat bonus of the highest tier it reaches, added to your balance automatically. Bonus credit cannot be refunded.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits do not expire while your account is active, and no minimum monthly spend is needed to keep them.
Can I use one key for all models?
Yes, for every model in the group the key belongs to; you choose the group when you create the key. Call GET /v1/models with the key to list exactly what it can reach. Protocol and feature support differ by model, so run the quick-setup request on the model’s page before you point a client at it.
Can I set a spending limit on an API key?
Yes. Each key can carry a total quota in USD plus 5-hour, daily and 7-day spending limits. You can also give it an expiry date and an IP allowlist. Usage for every request shows in the dashboard.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, for purchased credit you have not used, within 7 days of the purchase. Free credit and bonus credit cannot be refunded. The Refund Policy has the details.
